The tenth (10th) chord is an excellent technique you can use on your left hand. The 10th chord is basically following this:

Every major chord is made up of the numbers 1-3-5 of the scale played simultaneously. Basically, the 10th chord is made up of these three numbers inverted and played either simultaneously or in a “roll” form.

1-5-3 (the 3 actually becomes the 10)

At our Sports Center, the clientele are doing their thing on the jogging machines listening to all the jazz music. Using Chord Inversions With The Left Hand

Inversion are used on the left hand between chord changes. Let’s say a pianist is play a song in the key of C. Since the three main chord changes for the key of C are C, F, & G, the pianist will be switching the left hand back and forth between those chords. If the pianist used the first inversion for each chord witht the left hand while chording, he/she would be playing:

C-E-G for the C Chord
F-A-C for the F Chord
G-B-D for the G chord
